The Root of the Problem

Mom: "Colby, for the fifth time... PRACTICE YOUR DRUMS!"
Colby: "Why now?  I've got lots of time left in the day."
Mom: "If you do it now, it's done, and you can relax the rest of the day."  (side note... "relaxing all day" is not something either one of my boys struggles with in the least).  "Then I don't have to nag you for the next six hours.  Just get it done!"
Colby: "Mom, that is future me's problem.  Not my problem."
Mom: "Well, present me needs to start kicking it into gear, so future me isn't grounded."

UGH.  THAT is the problem.  There's always a procrastination clause in everything.
